Everything you get with a Golf, and with a lot more loadspace...
The estate version of the Golf arrived three years after the hatchback.

...the stylish new estate has a lot going for it.
Out on the open road, the Golf Estate proved quite enjoyable to drive; you're certainly not aware of its extra length compared with the Golf Hatchback and it can be hustled along quite briskly. The big advantage of the new Estate is that with the 60:40 rear seats folded forward, the load deck is perfectly flat for its full length. It's all very tempting, but keep things in perspective when specifying your Golf Estate and it makes an excellent choice; everything you'd get with a 5-door Golf, and more, at very little extra cost.
