Using simple modifications, the Polo BlueMotion achieved a significant improvement in fuel economy without great complexity or additional cost....Modified engine mounts allow it to run at lower speeds without undue vibration, and higher ratios for third, fourth and fifth gears help reduce engine speeds for any given road speed.
