Dynamic Automatic Brake Release function
The dynamic automatic brake release lets you drive off without first having to release the parking brake. It's also very helpful in hill starts. Passat/Tiguan models with manual gearboxes have a clutch sensor to ensure that the car starts off as smoothly as possible. This analyses the operation of the clutch and ensures the optimum response by the system. All it takes to set the Passat/Tiguan in motion is to press the accelerator and release the clutch. In the case of models with automatic transmission, you just press the accelerator. The control unit for the electronic parking brake analyses the signals relating to engine torque and speed, angle of incline and accelerator/clutch position, in order to determine the ideal point at which to release the brake.
