Parking Distance Warning System
The parking distance warning system is a parking aid that warns you about obstacles behind your car - and in some models about obstacles in front of it as well. An intermittent warning tone is activated by ultrasonic sensors in the bumpers when your car comes within 1.6 metres of an obstacle. As your car gets closer, the warning tone speeds up. When you have just 20 cms of manoeuvring space left, a continuous warning tone sounds. The rear parking distance warning system is switched on automatically when you put your car in reverse.
