Simulation Systems

When developing our new cars we rely increasingly on digital simulation systems. In particular, computer technology for virtual reality (VR) in all three dimensions is extremely important. 3D technology offers developers, designers, engineers and draughtsmen many advantages, which can all be passed on to the customer. Safety, ergonomics, maintenance costs, fuel consumption and emissions can be optimised at an early stage of the car's development. In the project visualisation centre, 3D representations of complete cars can be displayed in original size on a projection surface. In the total car mock-up centre, the overall structure of the car is displayed in three dimensions. In the digital mock-up (DMU), the car is modelled on the computer with all the relevant assemblies and individual parts. This lets us simulate and optimise the arrangement of the individual components and their installation and removal.
