The Santana was a luxuriously equipped conventional saloon based on the Passat B2, introduced in August 1981 and produced until 1985 for the European markets. The Volkswagen and Audi 5-cylinder petrol and diesel engines were also available for this model as well as the top of the range Passats. The Santana is still available in China, where production is due to finish in 2012.
