There’s no doubt a car has the biggest impact on the environment while it’s on the road. That’s why we believe it’s vital to make our cars as environmentally friendly as possible during the usage phase.
Our engineers work to achieve the lowest possible fuel consumption to produce ecological benefits for the environment and economic benefits for you, our customers. Successful examples to date include the modern TDI engines as well as the automatic DSG® direct shift gearbox. Obviously, the longer a car lasts, the lower the drain on our planet’s limited raw materials and, of course, on your wallet. The legendary build quality of our cars is key to this longer lifespan.
At the same time, we’ve been working to increase servicing intervals. Modern models are currently up to 50,000 km (with extended servicing intervals depending on the model and the usage of the vehicle). That means less old oil and fewer used parts.
