The Volkswagen Golf has again been recognised as the best in its class with a pair of wins in hotly contested categories at the annual Auto Express New Car Awards.

Volkswagen’s BlueMotion range of vehicles has added a further three awards – including overall Green Car of the Year – to its list of accolades, this time at the What Car? Green Awards 2010 which were presented last night at a ceremony at Twickenham Stadium in London.

Reinforcing the ‘Unbelievable value’ message of its latest marketing campaign, Volkswagen is adding a new model to the Golf line-up. Using the familiar Match name, the new variant replaces the SE trim level, and adds over £1,600 worth of extra equipment while costing just £300 more than the outgoing car.
