Our years of experience in diesel engine technology have resulted in the expertise needed to design an engine as innovative as our 3.0 V6 TDI. Offering you superb performance with economy, and at an attractive price, it’s every bit as refined as a 6-cylinder petrol engine. Available on both Phaeton and Touareg, it’s an exciting choice in both model ranges.

The V6 TDI, available in all Touareg trims, has been significantly modified for off-road use. It produces 225 PS from its 3.0-litre capacity, and has a maximum torque of 500Nm at just 1750 rpm. The turbo diesel engine accelerates the Touareg from 0-62mph in 9.9 secs, while at the same time meets Euro IV emissions standards.

All versions of the quiet and refined 3.0 V6 TDI engine, available on our Phaeton luxury saloon, are fitted with our 4MOTION all-wheel drive system. With its 6-speed automatic (Tiptronic) gearbox this impressive engine can reach a top speed of 145 mph (where the law permits) and takes just 8.8 seconds to sprint from 0 to 62 mph. Despite this outstanding performance it achieves a fuel consumption of only 29.4 mpg on a combined cycle (9.6 litres / 100 kilometres).
