Wheel change Step-by-step guide
-	Whether it's because of a flat tyre or a change in season, we'll show you how it's done.

-	The explanations apply to vehicles with combustion engines.
-	You can perform a wheel change on your Volkswagen by yourself.
-	When doing so, it's important to use a jack that is appropriate for the weight of the vehicle.
-	To change a wheel, you need:
-	Jack
-	Rim lock wrench
-	Wheel wrench
-	Extractor for plastic caps*
-	*With aluminium rims only
-	Optional:
-	Tyre chalk
-	Tread depth measurement tool
-	Torque wrench*
-	Spider wrench
-	*The torque wrench must be suitable for up to 180 Nm for a Volkswagen - depending on car model, rim size, rim type and number of screws. Detailed information can be found in the owner's manual. 
-	Our Volkswagen Emergency Wheel Set* contains all the tools you need to change a wheel.
-	It is available to purchase from your Volkswagen Retailer
-	*The emergency wheel is intended for use in the event of a breakdown.
-	With the emergency wheel, you can drive at a maximum speed of 80 km/h (50 mph).
-	Wheel change checklist once you've parked your vehicle on an even surface:
-	Apply the handbrake, put the vehicle into 1st gear ("P" in automatic vehicles).
-	Loosen wheel nuts or bolts using the spider wrench or wheel wrench by approximately a 1/4 turn.
-	Position the jack directly at the attachment point on the underbody and raise it to the assembly height.
-	If the jack is not positioned under the attachment point, it may result in damage to the sill.
-	Unscrew the wheel nuts with the spider wrench or wheel wrench.
-	Remove the Wheel
-	Check the wheel contact surface.
-	Remove any rust and check brake discs and pads for wear.*
-	*If in doubt please contact your Volkswagen Retailer.
-	Place the new wheel in the correct running direction and hand-tighten all wheel nuts using the spider wrench or wheel wrench. 
-	Lower the car with the car jack.
-	Tighten the wheel nuts with the prescribed torque.
-	Finally, measure the tyre pressure.
-	Please observe the recommendations in the owner's manual or on the sticker on the inside of the fuel flap or the inside of the driver's door.
-	Important for demounted tyres:
-	Inspect for damage (e.g. tears or nails in the tyre) 
-	Check the age of the tyre on the sidewall (DOT number)
-	If the tyre is more than 10 years old, we recommend disposing of it, regardless of condition.
-	The four-figure DOT number indicates the time of production (calendar week + year).
-	Tyre manufacturers may recommend a different service life depending on vehicle use. 
-	Measure tread depth
-	If any of the three are found to be deficient, you must dispose of the tyres properly.
-	Intact tyres should be stored.
-	Note the respective position on the vehicle on each tyre. (e.g. using tyre chalk)
