This featured the largest design leap of the series with a new athletic silhouette, contemporary look, large increase in boot volume and maximum safety specifications. The range included four Fish and three Tide engines with efficient & environmentally sound credentials. In 2008 the 2-litre common rail diesel and the 1.8 TSI petrol engines were introduced to replace the existing 2-litre range. The R36, a 3.6-litre VR6 was also introduced in August 2007.
