Corrosion Protection

The most reliable method of protecting sheet steel against corrosion is galvanising, which is a surface coating of metallic zinc on steel. The zinc reacts to create a stable compound which is also immune to surface damage, forming a physical and electro-chemical barrier to rust. Even if scratched down to the base metal, the zinc layer will continue to protect the steel from rust. Sheet steel can be galvanised on one or both sides. Galvanisation is applied in very thin layers of less than 20 micrometres (millionths of a millimetre) and is used primarily to treat finer surfaces such as the visible surfaces of your car's body. Body galvanisation maintains the safety, value and serviceability of your car over a long time.
All our cars use two-sided galvanised sheet metal for all body panels, a process that helps enable their 12-year corrosion perforation limited warranty.
