Cleaner and more economical than its predecessor, the new GTI's advanced 2.0-litre TSI engine achieves 38.7mpg on the combined cycle with lower CO2 emissions of just 170g/km (down from 189 on the previous version).
Despite its exceptional performance the new Golf R returns 33.2 mpg on the combined cycle, around a 25% improvement versus its previous version. C02 emissions also improve significantly dropping below 200 g/km.
The GTD offers even greater benefit achieving 53.3mpg on the combined cycle and CO2 emissions of 139g/km from its 2.0-litre TDI Common Rail engine.
