The high intensity Bi-Xenon headlights* on your Touareg mimic natural daylight and are more powerful than conventional lights. So you get a brilliant view of the road ahead that's both deeper and wider. Technically they should be called High Intensity Discharge lights. But we know them better as bi-xenon headlights after the gas used in their manufacture. Focus on safety They provide a well-focused blue-white light that does its best to turn night into day. But they don't dazzle oncoming traffic thanks to their self-levelling mechanism. This adjusts the headlamps' vertical aim to keep the beam level, automatically compensating for a loaded boot. Bi-Xenons - signifying that both main and dipped beams use HID lamps - incorporate a high-pressure wash to make sure the headlights stay clean. The lamps also provide better illumination of the side of the road allowing you to spot danger sooner when driving at night or in bad weather.
