Anti-Submarining Ramp
The anti-submarining ramp is built into the seat base and inclined so the front edge points upwards. It is designed to stop the occupant from sliding underneath the lap belt if they are pushed deep into the seat cushion in a collision. All our seats incorporate steel-reinforced ramps which prevent the lower part of the body from 'submarining' under the belt, reducing the risk of injury in an accident.
