The wheel and tyre combination that is right for your Golf GTD is a matter of opinion. Alloy wheels certainly emphasise the sportiness of the Golf GTD.

The Golf GTD is fitted with  IQ.LIGHT headlights as standard that stretch all the way round to the side wings, while sleek LED tail light clusters dominate at the rear. The IQ.Lights include extra powerful LED matrix headlights fitted with “Dynamic Light Assist” main-beam control light up the road as well as innovative dynamic turn signals that use an animated strip of lights to show which way you are turning.

Fog, heavy snowfall or rain? Not a problem with the  LED front fog lights that come in the new 5-honeycomb design and are built into the bumper. Turn them on quickly and the world will look pretty different. And your Golf GTD will look even more striking.

Your new Golf GTD will welcome you before you’ve even climbed aboard: Operate your remote control key or start to approach the vehicle and the headlights and tail lights will light up.  The door handle recesses and red strip in the radiator grille will also light up and your new Golf GTD will welcome you with light projected out of the exterior mirrors onto the floor.

Climb in and hit the gas: the DSG dual clutch gearbox with its brand new smaller selector lever guarantees fun behind the wheel without any interruptions. That’s because you can change seamlessly between the gears and even reduce your fuel consumption. Pressing on the selector lever enables you to easily select your chosen driving mode, which is then activated via the electrically connected shift-by-wire gearbox. Particularly handy in a traffic jam: When combined with Travel Assist, the system can help you to pull away and brake.

Who would have thought that a little phrase like “electronic differential lock XDS+” could bring such a broad smile to your face? This is precisely what happens in the Golf GTD. That’s because the standard XDS+ delivers more traction, which helps you to feel safe when cornering. For example, the precise application of pressure to one side results in sportier, faster and more accurate cornering, so it comes as no surprise that you feel yourself start to smile when you spot a curve ahead. 

When combined with the optional “Discover Pro” radio navigation system, the Digital Cockpit Pro can be upgraded to the Innovision Cockpit. This means that both displays, measuring 10 inches (25.4 cm) and 10.25 inches (26.04 cm), can be merged together. The resulting display landscape not only contains classic content like the rev counter, speedometer and mileage counter, but also other useful data in an even clearer and more detailed display. You can even set up favourite functions on the home screen, just like the way you would configure your smartphone.

The new Golf GTD has a digital cockpit pro as standard.

The Golf GTD is equipped with high-quality premium sport seats as standard. With their sophisticated design, the seats are a real treat for the eyes, and for your back. Their height and lumbar support can be adjusted. They provide good support and a pleasing level of comfort. And of course, they also come with an optional heating function. Are you looking for even more comfort? Then opt for the optional premium sport seats in leather with ventilation and a electrically adjustable driver’s seat.  

The classic function knobs in the cockpit have largely made way for touch-sensitive surfaces in the new Golf GTD. This allows you to control the Climatronic, for example, simply and intuitively using buttons and sliders. Even the leather trim touch multifunction steering wheel can be operated with a simple tap of the finger. In combination with the intelligent menu navigation you have access to lots of functions. Haptic feedback through gentle vibration confirms every entry.

Being able to check all the most important information while also keeping an eye on the road: this is the main advantage of the optional head-up display in your Golf. Part of the windscreen becomes a projection area that can display your speed, messages from your driver assist systems or navigation instructions. The projection itself is still clearly legible, even when light is shining directly onto the windscreen. And you can switch off the display at any time if you no longer need it.
