Expressive SUV-coupé design

From the very first glance the ID.5 presents itself as a progressive electric crossover, combining the strength of an SUV with the flowing silhouette of a coupé. The special thing about it is that the excellent aerodynamics of the avant-garde design reduces drag, boosts energy efficiency and, as a result, increases the range. Also,  once inside an intelligently designed spacious place awaits you thanks to the compact electric drive concept – offering plenty of space for all that the day may bring.

Breathtaking electric performance

When it comes to your demands, there is no need to compromise with the new ID.5. It is as powerful as an SUV, as efficient as an ID. and accelerates like a sports car – because its electric motors deploy their full force from the very start: dynamically and with full torque. The ID.5 has a low centre of gravity thanks to the high-voltage battery built into the floor of the body - ensuring well-balanced driving dynamics. The ID.5 offers maximum driving pleasure with a range of up to 335 miles (540 km) or up to 308 miles (497 km) on the ID.5 GTX 1. With this performance it won’t be just the daily routine you leave behind you.

Sustainability and elegance complement each other perfectly

The ID.5 is the third model in the ID. family to arrive within one year - and another concrete step on the way to becoming the most desirable brand of sustainable mobility.  Like the ID.3 and ID.4, the ID.5 will be net carbon neutral1 when it reaches the customer.  So that you can be on the road with a neutral CO2 balance right from the start, we first reduce and avoid CO2 in production with the help of various measures. These include, for example, the use of green electricity both in battery cell manufacturing and in production. Unavoidable CO2 emissions from production to delivery to the customer, which are determined with the help of the specific eco-balance, are offset by certified climate protection projects. The greatest challenge in our company's history lies ahead of us. Perhaps the greatest in the history of mobility: we are taking responsibility for our share of global CO₂ emissions. Thats our Way to Zero. And it starts here. 1. CO2 emissions are avoided and reduced directly at Volkswagen wherever possible. Upstream suppliers shall be obliged to avoid and reduce emissions accordingly. CO2 emissions that cannot be avoided and reduced at VW and through corresponding obligations in the supplier chain shall be offset in the same amount by certified climate protection projects.
