Ways to save with electric

Making the switch to a Volkswagen electric vehicle comes with a number of financial benefits, such as government grants and incentives, and lower fuel and maintenance costs.

1
Government grants and incentives

We’re not the only people trying to encourage you to make the switch. The government offer a range of money saving schemes such as a grant to make installing a wallbox charger at home cheaper for people living in flats and rental accommodation. Electric vehicles are also exempt from schemes such as the London Congestion Charge.

Tax breaks

100% electric vehicles are exempt from paying any road taxes until 31 March 2025. This includes the premium tax paid on cars priced above £40,000.

Lower fuel costs

A Volkswagen electric vehicle will, more often than not, beat a petrol or diesel car when it comes to energy costs. Particularly when you consider the ability to schedule charging for times when energy tariffs are lower or charging for free at work charging stations.

Servicing and maintenance

Compared to a petrol or diesel car, maintaining a Volkswagen electric vehicle is pretty straightforward. That’s because there are a lot less components prone to wear and tear, such as spark plugs, a gearbox or a clutch. You can wave goodbye to oil changes too.

Whether you’re a fleet manager, small business owner or a company car driver, there are lots of savings to be made by switching to Volkswagen electric. Financial benefits include, lower running and maintenance costs, tax advantages and exemption from congestion charge zones. On top of that consider employee satisfaction and the enhanced reputation that comes with being a business focused on sustainability.
